Cream of Tartar is a common baking ingredient but can also be used in home cleaning when a mild acid is called for. To use as a bathtub stain remover, sprinkle cream of tartar on the stain and then rub with lemon wedges. To remove spots from aluminum cookware, mix 2 tablespoons of cream of tartar and 1 quart of water in the stained item. Bring the solution to a boil and simmer for about 10 minutes. Wash and dry the item as you usually would.
